Eyes don’t focus | ADHD Information

I, personally, don't experience epileptic episodes. I just kind of zone out for a bit if I'm bored and my mind starts to wander...if I'm tired, then things will haze and I have to get myself to concentrate again

I had a friend in High School who would zone out for about 10-30 seconds at a time. It was a form of epilepsy...nothing to do with ADD. May want to look into that. She could not recall anyhting that occurred at that time and would just pick up where we left off. Hope that helps!

All epilepsy isn't loosing awareness. There are different types.

Partial, Absence, Grandmal, all 3 combind. Learn about these. There are different meds for each type.

Thanks for the clarification  I couldn't tell exactly what you were saying...or maybe it was just the way I read it lol...I find that I sometimes will go into kind of a blank stare and stuff will kinda haze on me and I have to "shake my head" and concentrate to get back to whatever I am supposed to be doing...

I kind of know what you mean. Like you have to shake your head to focus. I get like that when I am in my ADD 'fog'. Not good when driving. You should talk to your Doctor.

Good luck,

Becky

Does anyone or did anyone ever feel like they couldn't focus their eyes and had to concentrate to do it?  Not sure if this is the best way to explain it.

hmmm...you may want to look into that and mention it to a doctor...I may not be understanding your question correctly though...is there any way you could describe what you mean a little more? or explain a situation/example?

It feels like I'm zoning out - that may be a better way to describe it.  I've not been diagnosed yet.  Have had problems for many yrs. and was told about this, looked it up and made an appt. right away because it sounds so much like what I deal with and can't anymore with the work I have to do now.

Yeah, that was just like me. like addbec said, its seems to happen when youre in the add 'fog'. thing is, i also have a slight stigmatism (or whatever it is.. :P) in my eye, so its slightly hard to focus anyway. the fog seems to aggrivate it, and it seems to intensify the fog, like a vicious circle. i found getting glasses for lectures took away some of the eye strain, and kept me out of the fog

Yep, that's how it is - a zoning out, fog type of things and I have to tell myself, get with it, concentrate.  Thanks for the input.
