If it makes you feel any better, one doctor "discharged" me as a patient because I kept forgetting appointments! I even wrote them a letter explaining what happened, and that I'd like to be given another chance but NOPE.
Kinda funny, but kinda hurtful...I've never been "discharged" from anything in my life!
I had a follow-up appointment with my doc this afternoon, and I had fully intended to mention Strattera to her.
Stimulants are supposed to work right away, aren't they? Maybe tomorrow I'll be a little less dumb.

hey bc, if you don't mind me getting personal....any anxiety problems? i'm working on a plan to change from wellbutrin xl and strattera may be the next option. my biggest need is focus and wellbutrin is not the answer. i do have situational anxiety issues and a stimulant may not work? i see my doc on the 6th and will make a change then, if i remember to ask

What a weenie that person is. I'd even say a real greedy weenie.

next friday? ok, i will think of you then, i;m scheduled go see my shrink the same day!
You are not an idiot!
I do that every time I go to the dr. so I take a note pad to remember all of my questions. It gets stressful in dr's office because a person feels so rushed and then you forget what you have to say. I have decided I don't care and I just write it all down and ask.Yes... the list... I know that tendency... I allways make a list... or I just sit there, overly anxious... bbbbbbdaaaaawhadaaa... huh?
And BC.. yes, stimulants should work within an hour... unless perhaps they are depo... they might not work right away... and some peoples stomaches arent volatile enough to break the layers in the medicin...
I do not know with Wellbutrin... but Ritalin and Adderall should work within an hour...

So wellbutrin didnt work??? How long did you take it, my therapist says it takes at least 3-4 weeks to recieve benefit. I will be trying that next.

Gosh, you'd think a DOCTOR who's well seasoned with ADD/ADHD would be more understanding or at least have their staff give you a couple more reminder calls ahead of time instead of one.

So many times everything really does happen for a reason so maybe you'll find an even better one.
My doctor just moved to another practice that charges for missed appointments and doesn't "do reminder calls". Where she used to work called my JOB the day before AND left message(S) at my home.
Dont know if this would be an option you'd want to try for remembering the Straterra, but if there is something that I absolutely dont want to forget, I write it on my hand. I lose lists, but the hand will never fall off.I had a follow-up appointment with my doc this afternoon, and I had fully intended to mention Strattera to her.
I FORGOT!!!!
Damn ADD. How's that for irony? Anyway, she has decided to try me on a very low dose of Dexedrine - a stimulant - since the Wellbutrin had zero effect.

bcgirl,
I did the same thing last time I saw my doctor. I had in mind all these questions I wanted to ask lol. Did I remember them? no! Afterwards I did though and was so upset that I forgot them. I thought that for sure I could remember the questions lol. I think I just drew a blank in her office I don't know. But it's good to know I'm not the only one who does that! I think forgetfulness is caused by ADD. It's weird, I can remember appointments usually etc but not little things like what i want to ask somebody or something small. Then it bugs me so much later!! lol.
