Sonia I am a diabetic since the age of 17 so for sweetner the best is Splenda tastes more like sugar and is more natural. What I did during my pregnancy was drink decaffienated beverages and made a list of what I want once the child is here. You still can have chocolate but not all the time and in moderation and at this point you do not have far to go. You will get through this and just think once the baby is born your diabetes will go away. I wish mine would. To keep you in check what was told to me be careful what you eat for when blood sugars go high it makes the babies pancreas (that makes the insulin and when this does not work properly you get diabetes) work harder and you do not want that. You are almost at the finish line, few weeks left and you will be holding your son.
And by the way when i read your Ack no! I thought Scott posted that he says it all the time and i had to laugh. His other favorite is Ungowa, drives me nuts.
Noooooo... they cant take the oj away, too!!!!!!!!
First of all congrats
No matter what you have to give up just find strength in knowing that your sacrifices are helping to provide a better life for you child. Isn't that what's most important. I know it's hard. Just picture that lillte girls or boys face and you'll find your inner strength.
Good Luck.
yes, i know. I will think of my little boys face. I can do this..
I just need someone to hold my hand to make it through....

Have you thought of a name for your boy?
scarygreengiant38472.6042708333well, i was keeping it a secret, but I will tell you guys:
his name is Gabriel.
you know, this would be easier to take if i did not have to continue working right now, you know? if i was at home, i could be just as spacy and confused as I wanted to be, but it is very difficult maintaining with absolutely NO treatment, and NO self medicating while I am at work.
I am just sitting here with my head in the clouds, writing in this forum, while i am supposed to be working, and i have hardly gotten ANY work done, and i'm gonna get in trouble!!
I wish i was at home...
well, for those of you who don't already know, i'm pregnant, just a few more, less than 10 weeks to go.
Well, i have already decided not to take ad/hd meds for the duration of my pregnancy.
I can't have my caffeine...no tea, chocolate only occassionally...
So far, I was relying on my morning cup of orange juice to get through the day...
but now, they tell me i am on the border of having gestational diabetes, and they have cut all my sugar out, and have replaced my morning cup of orange juice with some sugar free imitation mess!!
I HAVE BEEN CUT OFF FROM ALL MEANS OF MAINTAINING MY SANITY!
somebody please hold my hand...

You can do it! You have to do it, not just for your baby but for US! We're so excited about him and you wouldn't want to disappoint us, would you?
I love your name choice too. Every guy that I know named Gabriel is quality, so it has a good track record as a name I think.
Awwww Congrats Sonya
Those last weeks of pregnancy are rough, but you will be surprised at how quickly they go. The crazier thing is you will probably miss being pregnant when all is said and done. You can do it-- think of how proud you will be when your perfect child enters this world, and you did everything you could to ensure not only his health but your own.
You may want to try pampering yourself as a replacement for you freedom to eat what you want. You would be surprised how good a pedicure feels-- or better yet waxed, hair free legs (nothing is more difficult than shaving your legs 9 mths pregnant).
Just be thankful you are not on bed rest. I was for the last month and a half of my pregnancy. Talk about going crazy!
Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS!
stepmom2maddy38474.8178240741you can do it Sonya! It must be awful to have a restricted diet when you just want to eat everything in sight. what could you substitute that is good, hmm....a nice hot cup of chicken soup is good, or cold milk?
