We dont have any sort of insurance to help pay for medications here in Ontario, my daughter is on a disability because she also has Spina Bifida and her drug card has covered everything else in the past except Concerta but my pediatrition did say something about doing a thing called a section 8 to have it covered in the future but there is a but she has to try Ritalin slow release first because it is covered and then if that still is not working for Joline then they will cover it Hopefully they want to make sure all other meds have been tried first probably maybe cheaper who knows, like I said she has been through 4 different meds for her ADHD in the last couple months it has been crazy
, we just keep our fingers crossed and hope we get to the end of the road......

Just a quick question what is MHMR?
EXPLAIN WHY INS. DOESN'T COVERS SOME BUT OTHERS. OURS COVERS THEM ALL. TRY SEEING IF MHMR WILL GET IT FOR YOU.Have the doctor call the insurance company and tell them to pay. Insurance companies are famous for trying to tell you what meds to take so they don't have to pay for the higer priced ones. If your doctor says you have to have the med then your insurance has to cover it. Hi everyone, Im new to this so please hear me out. My 7 year old daughter has been diagnosed with ADHD a couple of years ago now and had been taking ritalin all along till a few months back, she was taking 10 mg in the morning and another 10 mgs at lunch time need less to say by the time she got home from school it had wore off and had attention spand to do her homework. So finally after all this time of dealing with her rude behavior and the talking back I had enough and spoke up at the Dr appointment so she tried her on the concerta 18mg and 2 of them in the morning that where suppose to last the whole day they were lasting till about 5;00 and completely wearing off so I called back to the Dr for a stronger dose and I found out that the Concerta is not covered by my daughters drug card so the pharmacy said there was one more to try ritalin slow release before they can do a section 8 before they can get it covered so it has been crazy with all these meds her poor system has been so mixed up. Even at her worst Joline is a pretty good kid she likes to talk back occasionaly and very hard to motivate, she will never swear or punch not aggresive at all so Im pretty lucky that way she will just gab everyones ear off haha. So Im really glad that I found this site to get some helpful advice so anyway she is now taking this slow release ritalin until I can get the concerta covered on a regular basis because I think Joline did really well on it.
