Anxiety/ADHD sufferer here... | ADHD Information
Hi
I just joined the forum and wanted to say hello to everyone. I have
suffered from a variety of anxiety related disorders over the years and
I know they can take a tremendous toll on a person's life. I have been
"officially" diagnosed (among other things) with Generalized Anxiety
Disorder, ADHD, Hypochondria, Panic Disorder, Depression, Phobias,
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder and
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and have dealt with these conditions for
the better part of ten years. Many of my family members are also
sufferers to one degree or another. I take "benzos" and SSRI's but it
still is'nt always easy.
Anyway, glad to be here and that I found this place!:-)
Wow, that's quite a cocktail. I really wonder how it would be possible,
or useful, to diagnose ADHD through all those issues. From that
list, I would say that ADHD is the thing with the least impact on your
life. You could probably just ignore your ADHD and tackle the others,
and be better for it.
Hi and thank's for the reply :). Well, my ADHD is fairly mild but when
I was younger, it was much worse and I was put on Ritalin for several
years. Where it manifests itself now is in my inability to
focus/concentrate for long periods of time. I've never been on any of
the newer drugs to treat this. Anyway, glad to meet you :)
Which of the problems you mentioned are from childhood, and which ones developed in adulthood?
Edit: my question origionally made no sense. lol.

Hi Anxietyzone
Do you ever feel like you are having a heart attack when you are having a panic attack.
I am not on any medication but lately the anxiety and panic is severe and the ADHD is also driving me crazy. I can't remember anything. To boot I lost our checkbook but I know it has to be around the house because I entered into the computer the latest checks I wrote. But the fact I can't find it is drving me crazy!!! I fee like I am spiraling out of control.
Thanks for listening
