Different types of ADD | ADHD Information

Are there different types of ADD.  I have heard a few people mention this on here but I haven't found them in the book I am currently reading about ADD.  My doctor didn't tell me that I was any specific type.  She just told me that I had ADD.

There are three types, but their underlying symptoms are basically the same:

Primarily innatentive type - most common in adults. The "daydreaming" and innatentive symptoms are most prevalent.

Primarily hyperactive type - the high energy and impulsiveness is most prevalent.

Combined type - most common in children. All symptoms are pretty much equal.

Try this web site.  He tests for all the different sub-types and give a pretty good explanation of them.  The whole site is very interesting.  Scary stuff on brain scans of drug abusers.

This is the link for the tests themselves.

If it doesn't work just type in the first part; www.amenclinic.com/
