wow, surprised myself. | ADHD Information

Once I was driving home late on a Sunday night. I live in the inner city and I was coming from up the coast, small town. The only road from the town is 20km of 1 lane dark road through farmland before you get to the city.

A towtruck was coming and I pulled in front of him instead of letting him go first and he then tailgated me for 10km. It made me speed up faster than I wanted to go, and his highbeams were blinding me in the rear view mirror too.

Then he started honking the horn to pull over, so I did and when he got out of his truck to come over I floored it. There was no way I was talking to some truck driver on a lonely road.

I drove really fast the rest of the way with this guy following me and tried to lose him at a roundabout, even turning off the wrong street, parking and turning the car off, and then when he drove past, turning round and going back.

This guy then followed me again and eventually caught up with me at traffic lights, got out came over, opens the passenger door (which I forgot to lock) and starts telling me I was driving all over the road back there. I was screaming at him, close my door, get away from my car!! Then the lights changed to green so I zoomed off and lost him.

I couldn't believe this guy, he started driving right up behind me with high beams on, making me anxious and speed up and wondered why I was concentrating more on him than the road, then he decides to chase me and give me a lecture.

I don't think it occurred to him I was a young girl by myself, wondering if he is a serial killer, he was on such a mission to tell me what a bad driver he thought I was. He must have thought it was drunk teenagers.

Now I pull over and let people past so they can't tailgate and freak me out.

You should have found the police station and pulled into there while he was following you!!

I'm an experiance driver, but when people tailgate it makes me nervouse and i don't drive well. I tend to slow right down to force them to pass me.Man, I can't stand those stupid "tricked out" wigger cars. I'm thinking of getting a tank just so I can run them over. Anyone else think that's a good idea?

I don't get that, are they trying to make it sound like a bigger engine? do they like bees? Is it supposed to imitate a fart?

I tend to hit the brakes and scare 'em, or slow right down (depends how angry I am). I did the 'hit the brakes' thing a few years ago when a couple of 'Boy Racers' where on my tail, driving dangerously close on a day when I was in a bad mood. The one closest to me stopped, the one behind him didn't.

Yeah, it's stupid, I know - but what can I do? I'm just so impulsive, and I get such a road rage that I just do it without thinking.

It is surprising because i am a total freak when it comes to my cars.. i love em about as much as my wife..

Been getting kinda pissed off today at the insurance tho as they're being horrendously slow with everything. I was supposed to be called today by a claims adjuster in my area.. a claims adjuster did call before 10am, as promised.. however, she wasn't anywhere NEAR where i am.. so i am now being transferred to another claims adjuster near here and they're taking their sweet time with it.

We're going to Vegas tomorrow with four people and i need this car to do that, my other two cars are both sporty and won't really do for four people you know.

lol let me tell you, people around in this area(Tennessee) are HORRIBLE drivers! I still feel like a new inexperienced driver. I feel like i have to be overly cautious all the time of them. They cut out right in front of people etc like the normal things people do that are stupid when driving. But the thing is, people do it more than ever here!! its horrible! I try to remain but it can be very hard! i hate it when people are tail gating me and I'm going the speed limit or 5 mph over. There are tons of cops in this town just ready to catch someone, it's a small town and they don't have a lot to do so they'll hide in secret places all ready to go catch someone for speeding. Anyway and when someone tail gates me, I feel like I HAVE to speed up and so i get really anxious about there being a cop around but I'm trying to learn to just keep going the speed limit and let them get impatient. I can't afford any speeding tickets right now! lol

Well, yesterday i was driving back from the petstore with some food for our cat when a 17 year old kid in a souped up, tricked out 1995 Chevy Impala SS rammed the rear end of my five month old, ,000 car.

To my own surprise i was EXTREMELY calm and dealt with the information exchange quickly and efficiently, crawled my car home (my rear bumper shifted a foot to the right in the collision!) and dealt calmly with the insurance company.

Guess that the Adderall is doing more for my calmness than i thought it did!

Kudos to how you dealt with it. I'd never "brake" anyone, but do drive slower, just fast enough to go the speed limit but slow enough to make them a tad irritated.

I learned a long time ago that antagonizng anyone, i.e. braking, just ain't worth it in this crazy world...doesn't matter how tough you are, how big you are..too many maniacs out there who really don't care if they put you in the hospital, go to jail etc.

Now flippin' them the bird...that's still a very useful tool!

And YES, to the driving issues. At least since you dont live in Davidson you dont have to deal with the new arse of a police chief and his ticket enforcement.
