Why Can’t..... | ADHD Information

They allow our meds to be refilled? I mean...I understand the reasoning, BUT why can't they just 'red flag' on a computer for the people who are trying to refill their meds before 30 days (or another chosen time period)?

Ugh, sorry for the complaint, its just really "fun" when the Doctor is on vacation and you get shafted...and I actually called in nice and early this time and EVERY thing!!! My 'appointment' is May 17th. I have 2 pills (was supposed to be able to refill May 5th) ::siiiiiigh::

I *also* got a speeding ticket for 45 in a 40 zone...5 frickin' mph!!!!!!!! I am wicked frusterated with politicians and 'higher ups' right now...

I agree. I have to see him 2 weeks early just because I'll be on vacation and he won't give me an extra 3 days worth. It isn't cheap to see the Doc every month.

It only cost me a dollar co-pay, I am lucky in that respect, but in my city of 500,000 there wern't any specialist, so I drive to a suburb...an hour of travel, just so I can explain to the Dr in person exactly what I already told all the nurses and the prescription lady over the phone.

So lame.

I know! Why can't we do a phone consult?? Because they don't get paid + if we don't come in. It sucks. Especially since my Doctor is always running 40+ minutes late. grrr.ack! I guess I should feel lucky that the doctor gave me a 4 month prescription and the pharmacist read it wrong and gave me 8 months worth!

My doctor is in once a week...and if I can't get him before he leaves I have to explain to everyone and their brother why I need meds a little early (same reasons already stated).  I was going away on business recently, and needed my prescription ONE DAY EARLY...after back and forth calls to the pharmacy, my ins co and the doctors office, I finally got the OK.

ARRRGH

I call my dr. a week before I need a refill and he mails me a prescription. I don't have to go to his office to pick it up every time, thank God. This may be an option for some of you.I just call my dr's office a few days before I need a refill and he writes a prescription that I go and pick up and take to the pharmacy.  Must be differences in policy and Drs. Was that for a stimulant? If it was, wow! In our state they can only fill it month-to-month because they're considered controlled substances. If the pharmacist receives an Rx for more than one month, they will not fill it.

Very interesting.

My doctor will also write mine for me each month, and I got pick it up. She can also call it into the pharmacy.
