My daughter takes 54mg of concerta at 7 am. I noticed a difference yesterday. She just started it yesterday.  Yesterday she complained of a stomach ache. Today She took it at the same time, never complained of a stomach ache and seemed like her normal self (all over the place). I watch her take the meds. Is it possible that she did not really her take them or is it too early in the med cycle to tell?

Hi my 11 year old takes 72 mg. of concerta, he has to take two 36 pills each day. He has never complained of a stomach ache, is it possible your daughter just didn't want to take the pill so she said she had a belly ache thinking you wouldn't give it to her? For my son it usually takes an hour to kick in, and goes the exact 12 hours when coming down. If she is still complaining of her stomach after a week i would call the Dr.

Stimulants are immediatley effective.  They don't take more than an hour or so to work.  BUT give concerta a week or so and watch for more subtle change.  Your post is also very open..  Has she been clinically diagnosed adhd?  Or did your pediatrician/family doc just want to try meds?

If you suspect adhd then get her diagnosed by a specialist in the field, and then follow their advice for treatment.  ADD is grossly overdiagnosed by general practice physicians and it sucks.
