autism info. on t.v.If anyone is interested, on May 22, at 8pm. on the CNN network there is a show on autism that is going to be on. I only know this because it is posted at my work, and if we watch it and then write a report on it we get workshop hours. Yes, this is normaly true as Autism kids usally have a history in infancey/toddler hood of being ill a lot. Not all of corse!I have talked with many autism kids parents and all their kids have been ill a lot. my son really wasn't sick all the time, he just has allergies---sinus issues---migraines----he's had his adnoids out, sinus surgery, to find he has blockage in his nose. but that's about it.... i know some kids at school who are always sick..... has anyone heard on the news that kids with autism have a different immune system than regular kids? i caught part of it and i can't remember all that was said but i do remember about a blood test, being sick differently, and hoping to find a cure soon. I didn't see it, but my son has high functioning autism and is healthy as a horse. It's probably just one of many theories about autism as nobody knows the cause. I'll take this opportunity again to remind everyone that the higher functioning autisms are often misdiagnosed as ADHD/OCD. The kids have obsessions, but it's due to the autism. They are also hyper, also due tot he autism.I wonder if there is any truth to that. My son is 2 and getting screened for autism this friday. He has been sick most of his life. That would be interesting to find out.
