Hee..I had to throw all mine out and start over. Same color, same style, all the same! VERY easy. The World of ADHDer's is a "Socking" Mess. OMG, do i know this one. i still have
single socks from the time I moved Homes 23 yrs ago.

I had to give up on having interesting socks. I buy all the same kind of white, black or tan. Its made my life so much easier! LoL LoL....I laughed so hard when I read these posts!  I didn't even realize I did that, but I have socks that I haven't found the matching one to in years...and I still have them.  I can't throw them away, maybe 1 day the matching 1s will turn up!This is sock-tacular! When they told me I had ADD I tried to reflect on my past and see if I had any childhood connections. Then my parents reminded me of the times when I would sit and cry to them that my socks didn't feel right as they were trying to rush me to school. I always seemed to have misplaced my shoes as well and come to think of it, I still do...  

When I can't find socks I visit Walmart I'm forever washing miss match socks

 

I hate socks! My life is made even more difficult by my brother who always takes my socks because he never bothers to wash his own. So even though I went out and bought 30 pairs all the same sort and same colours to make life easy, I have had to wear the same pair for the last 3 days, because I have no socks left!

Next time I will buy 30 pairs of pink ones, maybe that will put him off.

Ha Ha I'm a sock monster.

I only buy a specific white sock with grey bottoms so I can NEVER get that way....

BUT my socks always get found all over the house, behind couches, on the floor, on desks, behind desks, they're EVERYWHERE....

You can tell if I visit a place often by looking for my socks....

hey hey i'm not alone!That's a major discovery! Throw them away! Now! You've just taken a huge step to organizing your life.
Get this..I have mismatched socks...from 1984..

Lol! Oh that's so our house!  It's kind of a joke around here.  we tried being organized and had a basket just for mis-matched socks.  Idea was as mis-matched ones were found when folding laundry you put them in the basket, the logic being eventually the mate would be found and reunited in the basket.  Well some did get together but the reality is that there are probably more mis-matches in that basket than pairs in everyone's drawer! 

My theory was always there's a dimensional portal in everyone's dryer to the single sock universe!

I want to just throw them out but my hubby(who I think might be a bit OCD) says 'no, we can use them for rags or dusting!"  Ha!  I don't dust with socks, I use those swifer things and even if I did we have enough supply to dust for 20 years plus!

Oh and I totally can relate, I threw out some socks about 2 years ago from about the mid eighties too!

Today I finally figured it out...

Having 17 different socks in the drawer, with not one having a matching sock.

Unexplained phenomena...and starts my day off on the wrong foot!!!  (pun intended)

I just gave up on matching socks and wear long pants or sandals.
If it's a leisure day- no work, I say screw the matching socks thing, and put on one red one with cats, one pink one with ballons. I'll wear em with shorts, skirts, pants, whatever. I'll wear em shamelessly.
 
This is more out of defeat (embracing the futility of finding pairs. accepting the fact that doing laundry is tedious) than the intention to create fashion statement.
It is amazing how I can have so many mismatched socks, I think the dryer eats socks.  One day I took one of my sons socks that I hadn't seen a mate for in months and drew eyes on it for a sock puppet.  Wouldn't you know, the very next day the matching sock showed up!   Face Plant       I think i have a  sock monster in my washer  that only eats 1 sock to each pair....I have a  plastic  walmart  bag  hanging  over  my  dryer  and when i fold socks and  can't find a match i  throw  it  in the  bag.well the  bag is  full and  no matches I'm so glad  summer is here and  I can wear  my  flip flops...
