Lately I've been getting angry very easily and going off on everyone. I was diagnosed with ADD approx 8 months ago, and have been on generic Adderall since then. It's only lately that I've had this side effect. (If that's in fact what it is.) I basically hate everyone and everything and get irritated and angry at the drop of a hat. Someone told me this is a side effect of Adderall. Wouldn't I have had this side effect all along then? Is it possible that a side effect would take this long to show? Or is this rage totally unrelated?
This maybe something underlying and is now surfacing because the adhd is being subsided and giving the rage more room to work with. Just a thought.
I don't remember if I was on concerta or ritalin at the time, but about 5 years ago even though I'd been taking the med for a while for some reason (yet no *real* reason) EVERYONE just pissed me off... being so agitated with everyone all the time put me in the hospital pretty quickly. not fun.
So far with Adderall I've noticed very short bursts of agitation, over really stupid things (like if I drop a pencil). Just edgy...
it's possible that something in the adderal needed that long to build up enough to affect you..Definitely discuss your situation with your dr. It is possible that the adderall is causing such effects...or that it's causing you to eat less or sleep less, which can cause such effects. However, it is also possible that there is another explanation and it is important that you figure out what exactly is causing such behavior.
Good luck and keep us posted!
My daughter took adderall for 3 days and she was alot more aggressive and easily aggitated. She was actually worse than before her meds (if that is possible)
My son was on adderall for a month, and it turned him into a monster, he would fistfight with anyone mostly older kids, and win. Then he would swear up a storm, And i would Say don't swear and he'd look at me and go i didn't. This medication has different effects on everybody but you know how you were before, i would call the Dr. and let them know how you feel. It took a month for my sons Dr. to realize i was telling the truth. This still holds true through today. when my meds wear off and I revert, I get punchy.
how were they before adderall? probably the same?
