I have been using the supplement DMAE for several months.  It doesn't seem to help with memory, organization or concentration.  However I have noticed that the feelings of "impending doom" and occasional feelings of intense need or longing for I don't know what have pretty much disappeared.  For me that is worthwhile.  I am taking Omega 3 through ground flax seed (I mix it into chocolate soy milk) and taking L-Tyrosine.  I have only noticed a slight difference but supposedly these supplement regimens take 2 -3 months before the cumulative effect begins.  So I am giving this regimen until July before I really make a decision.                            I want to get a feel for what other people have tried and feel has worked for them whether it is Omega 3.   I do not go into Ritalin and the like.  So I am wanting to generate a discussion on what your research and/or experiences have told you.... Whether this is for you or for your spouse, it doesn't matter...

Well, the other day, I was feeling extremely antsy, so I went to the health store and purchased GABA.  I have long thought of doing so.  I can tell you one thing that after I took it, I feel less anxious.  I am more calm.  I am also taking DMG.  I have heard of positive effects for DMAE, but I cannot say much about it...

Boggled what exactly is the feeling of longing? Do you mean a longing as in related to companionship? And this doom feeling does it have to do with general negativity? I once used to take this powerful supplement called mental edge.  But the only problem was it had 60 pills and each serving was 4 pills.  So you would run out after 15 days.  If they had one with more pills in them, I would consider it.  But it is low on GABA, but okay on its DMAE.  I would consider buying it again after my supplements start running low to make it easier for me.

As far as Omega 3, I had success with a brand named EFALEX.  But it is hard to find in stores in the US.  I used to buy it in Canada.  I liked it because it had a wide variety of Omega oils and Vitamin E.  I am looking at buying the Oil Smart brand.... I guess my strategy will be to buy the Mental Edge pills (Which has a huge list of stuff), take a good Omega supplement... I have increased my intake of protein as well...

My husband suffers from extreem ADD, it has caused alot of job issues with him. He has been taking a supliment from VAXA called Attend along with Extress and Memorin and tells me he can see a huge difference. He is in sales and says he notices a huge difference in his attention span when he misses a day. He explains it like the tunnel being less wide and he is able to focus on what is in front of him. You can check out the website its VAXA.com, we dont do the pharmacutical side of "healthcare" either.

Omega 3 in the form of ground flaxseed for over a year. If its working, I cant tell.I've been taking Omega 3 and Ginko Biloba for about a month. I also added a protein supplement a few weeks ago because I've heard that AD/HD people need more protein. I haven't really noticed a difference yet but I'm going to try for a few months and see what happens.  scarygreengiant38482.5816898148Unfortunately, I'm allergic to fish and Vitamin E, so I'm pretty much stuck with flaxseed. Though I havent noticed any difference with it, I'm hoping that somewhere deep inside me it is changing something (at least it had better be, bc it is darned nasty tasting! )

Choc, you are allergic to fish.   Do you think you would also be allergic to sharks? I don't mean in terms of fear:)  My brother is allergic to fish, but he can eat shellfish. I don't know about shark oil or meat..... Well, if you want something strong, and can afford it take the strong Mental Edge pills that are made by Source Naturals.   I am about to buy them myself.   And if they only have 60 inside the container buy two, because the dosage is 4.   I know it worked for me.... It was intense...  That is what I am going to buy it.  Especially, since I found a cheaper store...

Both shellfish and sharks are out for me. Maybe that's my problem instead of adhd- a lack of seafood in my diet I've tried Focus Formula and that worked for me for a while and other Ginko supplements.   I found both in a health supplement store.                           I have heard of VAXA.   The only reason I personally would not take VAXA, though I would recommend it based on the ingredient, is because it contains homeopathic remedies and I am already taking some remedies.   I like Mental Edge by Source Nutritions.  It is powerful.... Choco, as far as Omega 3, I didn't find that Flax was very useful.   I know of a decent product called Efalex.   I can't find it in stores here, so I bought an oil called Smart Oil because it actually looked stronger than Efalex.   You want something that has a combination of Fish Oil and has Vitamin E with it and/or Borage and Primrose and these things take time..... I believe that Attend that she recommended is good and the Mental Edge I recommend....
