Insomnia & OTC remedies... any help?? | ADHD Information
I'm still on the first week of Adderall, but I've taken ritalin and concerta in the past... those two had no effect on my sleep. Last night, i didn't get a single wink of sleep until about 6AM, and I had to be up by 8 anyway. It was so extremely frustrating... So, needless to say, I'm only taking morning doses now. I can't see my doctor for prescription sleeping meds for a few weeks though. I bought some magnesium supplements (to help relax muscles?) and something called Sleep Naturally (melatonin, valerian root, chamomille, etc.) to help until then. I have my doubts about them though, as the sleeplessness caused by the Adderall keeps my mind so alert, I just don't think that's the kind of thing these OTC meds target. Anyone have any ideas on what works, what doesn't, or their own experiences with insomnia? Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Marita38482.8246296296you might want to look into ambien and maybe sonata, but i'll warn you that with the ambien there was a memory loss problem from the point id take it (20 minutes in) and that point ot the end of the nte would be a blur. GOOD LUCK!

sleep naturally should work. Eat protein and veggie dinners only. Tried valerian root?
Part of insomnia is unable to relax so yes otc's will work. They were used in Bible days. We are commanded in Genesis to use herbs in our diet. They are God's medacines. Eat complex carbs and protein dinners also help with this. Brent38509.3509143519We have a great experience with melatonin. My son is on Concerta + Ritalin,
and has always had problems falling asleep. Just 1mg of melatonin has
made a huge difference.
Good luck!
