ok, I realize it has only been a few days but I love this stuff. It is alot more potent than caffeine in so far as the lasting power. I have been taking one first thing in the morning and another around lunch and it keeps me going well into the early evening.
The funny thing is that energy has never been my problem, it has been the motivation to get going that results in my laziness. This stuff boosts my energy but also seems to help me focus and concentrate better which also ends up getting my motivated.
If you are looking for something other than heavy meds, consider looking for the ephedrine equivalent in your area and give it a try.

I have been doing some research on the ephedrine thing to get to know a little more about it. I have found papers from different medical journals (way too long ) and some shorter, easier to digest versions.
While there can be side effects after long term use including some pretty serious ones, those usually occur in high dosage or abuse situations. The other negative that stuck out to me was the tendency to need to up the dosage over time to see the same effect, something called tachyphylaxis.
On the positive side of things, it works quickly and can be used whenever needed as it doesn't require multiple dosages to build up in the body.
So far, I have used it off and on for a few days and have noticed an incredible difference when using it. However, I do not intend to take it everyday but rather on those days when staying on task and getting projects done is absolutely neccessary.

I have been thinking about ephedrine lately. I gave up on prescribed stimulants (for reasons that I have posted before). Since then I have added grown flax seed (Omega 3) to soy milk (protien) in the morning and am taking L-tyrosine. But that program has a cumulative effect and has yet to build into anything effective. So I am thinking that when I tried ephedrine before it definitely gave me a little boost. So why not try it to treat ADHD? This is probably quite unsound medically and I would advise anyone considering to follow me and MaddMatt in this to listen to someone a little more sensible than me at least. All:
After filling up with gas yesterday, I noticed the "Energy Boosters" behind the counter. I picked up some stuff with Ephedrine and gualif something or other.
I took it this morning and while not remarkable, I have noticed a definite change in my concentration and I am in a "work work work" mode. It says to take one pill every four hours and I'll probably limit it to once or twice a day to see how it works. So far so good!

ok, it has been 12 hours and I am still flying. Hopefully I'll be able to get to sleep tonight
My wife came home from work and wondered who did all the work around the house. While the little guy was taking his nap I went from one job to the next finishing things up. Amazingly, I didn't get too sidetracked the whole time. I approached a task, finished it and moved on. I haven't had a day like this in a long time. I truly believe this isn't normal either, normal people can't get this much done
I don't think I will take it on a regular basis but on the days I need to be productive, I can't imagine a better alternative. Yeah!!!!

CaffeineCoffee for me and I noticed my asthma meds gave me a clear head.
I have only tried caffeine and Metabolife, which gave me a lot of energy. But taking that long term is not a good idea. I found that the only thing that really helps is the Adderall.Adderall is not available in Canada. You would have to ask your doctor about drugs available to you.
I have tried herbal supplements that have ginko in them and other brain nutrients and they work also. I find that meds and herbs all wear off after about 6 months for me. I am going to try to alternate them and see if that helps.
I have finals this week in school. I'm taking hydroxycut to help me study. But I suffer from horrible withdrawal symptoms after taking caffeine, so I only do this once or twice a semester, no caffeine for the rest of the year!
lynch1000s38485.9486342593I used to take Sudafed (Pseudoephedrine). I have bad sinus problems and when taking it realized that I got a little boost and could get more done. I notice some places now keep in behind the counter. I asked why one day and they said people make methamphetamine (something like that) with it. I have been trying Strattera, 40 mg. for about 6 wks. now. At first it knocked me on my butt, very withdrawn & lethargic. I thought maybe too much so I opened the capsule and poured about 1/3 to 1/2 out, that seemed to help. Today is a weekend and I don't have to work so I took 40 mg. to see how it feels again. It has been about 2 hrs. and I still feel ok but not great. I also take 10 mg. Lexapro (antidepressant) in early evening. Don't think I have found the right combination or doses of medication yet and sometimes get tired of trying.
