I strongly believe that an atmosphere of unconditional love and acceptance and a very well developed sense of humor are ESSENTIAL to surviving in your situation!!!!

Hi there.  I'm pretty new at all this stuff.  I'm discussing getting your life together after finding out you, and everyone else in your family has ADD of some kind.  How do you accept it all?  How do you manage it all?

Thanks

ADDBEE

You just have to, read up and learn everything you can on it to start.  Then take one day at a time and go to next.  Set little goals and expectations ones you and your family can obtain, if they are too high failure you do not want can occur.  Seek therapy, counseling to help as well and you will get through.

How about a very wierd sence of humour where you,

and *only* you knows what the hell is so damn funny??

How's about laughing uncontrollably about absolutely ~NOTHING~

How about when people ask you what you're laughing about

and you have to reply: (truthfully!) "I have no idea!"

Then you realize that laughing about NOTHING is funny

in and of itself, so you start laughing even harder!

I've actually been *scared* out of a laughing spree

when I feel myself running out of oxygen.  Sometimes

I swear I'm gonna collapse a lung one of these days!

Laughing would be a whole lot safer if it happened

while breathing IN, instead of OUT.  Then again, there

may be the risk of a lung explosion.   eh??
