All ADD and ADHD medications work differently for everyone. I take aderall and im going to get off it because its harming my body. If his behaviour got worse then obviously Aderall or Aderall XR isnt suitable for him. Try one of the many other medications such as Concerta, Straterra, Ritalin, and others. Most of my friends end up taking Concerta after trying other medicines. I'm pretty sure that Concerta was made specifically to treat children. Also, Straterra works well for some of my other friends. So keep hold of your wits for a small amount longer and ask your doctor to change the perscription because aderall isnt working (It doesnt work for me either, i'm gonna try to switch).

Yes...call your DR and explain this situation. It's possible that he might give him another med or up the dosage. I've often heard that it's hard to get it right the first time. Gotta hang in there.....I realize it's horrible at times...I often weep because my 6 (almost 7) says hurtful things. He told me last night that he was not going to be my son anymore. I just said OK: then fix your own breakfast in the morning and sent him to bed. He woke up VERY apologetic this morning....but yet they always do show signs of remorse. I really don't think he can 'help' just blurting things out.....Hello my son is 5. I have had problems controlling him as long as i can remember.. he has never been able to sit, play with others without fighting.. we have 3 boys.. I had to go down to part time at work because my son kept getting in trouble in school and i would have to leave work and go in the office. therefore my husband has to work longer hours to make up for it.. my problem now is that he did go to a doctor who said he had adhd. i knew he did before the doctor said he did.. before my husband and i didnt want to medicate but now we changed our mind after my son getting introuble in school so much.. he is a bright kid he has all e,s on his report card.. that is good because it goes average, need improvement or exceeds.. well he exceeds but always in trouble.. so we finally medicated him and they put him on adderall at first the one that lasted 5 hours.. he did alright in school only getting in trouble once.. ( he was on that for two weeks) then the doctor put him on adderall xr.. he has been on it for one week and when he comes home from school now.. i just say to my self i thought this was suppose to last all day.. my problem is that he is i believe worse now.. he crys all the time.. yells at me and his brothers.. and his whole attitude has i believe gotten worse.. I think i need a counsler.. i had to send him to my parents today because i couldnt handle him.. i actually was so frustrated i cryed for about 3 hours.. i dont know how much more i can take.. my nerves are a mess.. does this medicane stop getting him like this or is it a side effect.. some one please help me.. should i call the doctor .. what do i do now..
