Hello,
I hope you took the advise to take your friend to the doctor. And from a personal stand point, thank you for posting what you did.
I have been on adderall for almost three months and have had a good experience except for the fact that I've been bruising as well. I told my doctor about this and walked out of his office with an increased dosage strength for my next perscription. He wants to "monitor" me more closely, however, I am having a hard time with this bruising thing.
I haven't found any info on medical sites regarding links between adderall and bruising. I did find, however, a posting from a woman who stated that her grand daughter after being on adderall started to bruise intensly. They took her to the hospital and found that her blood platelets (the stuff that makes your blood clot) were dangerously low. They took her of adderall immediatly and kept her in the hospital where she quickly recovered.
My bruising comes and goes very quickly, but I am almost certain it is from the adderall. I have been in the last week increasing my vitamin c intake (i know that is a supposed no no for adderall but i experience no decrease in medicinal affects), vitamin b and most importantly (for your friend as well) vitamin k which helps to increase blood platelets and clotting abilities. Vitamin K can be found in green leafy vegetables especially brocalli and green t. You can't buy Vitamin K straight, so you have to eat it in foods.
Please keep me updated on your friend. I'm glad she has you by her side.
Lakshmi
