Adderall side effects
Hi: My 14 year old son started taking Adderall last week. He seems to be responding well to the medication, as far as with his attention issues, but he is constantly complaining of a headache and upset stomach. I see these as side effects of the medicine, but it does not say for how long. Any experiences? Thank you.
I've been taking a high dose of adderall (XR) for over 3 years. I am familiar w/ both headaches and upset stomach. The upset stomach should go away eventually. By drinking more fluids (water/milk....NOT SODA) and trying to eat small amounts thru out the day, the headaches should stop. My headaches most often occur around early afternoon. Usually when I eat something, they go away w/in 15 min. Never, no... NEVER have I experienced paranoia, depression, OR social anxiety. Really, give it a chance before jumping to something new. Head and belly aches are pretty minor, compared to some of the others' side effects.
I have definitely experienced the upset stomach. Make sure you keep an eye on him as other side effects can develop around 3 weeks. Experiences with others and myself have included social anxiety, paranoia, and depression. Nothing to fear but stuff to watch out for. Did you look into Strattera?
