Thank you very very much.  I would have had no idea where even to start to look.  I appreciate you taking the time to write back and to give me the info.  Thanks again, TeacherindianaI dont know anything about coaching, but I also had the problems you've had with getting places on time and in one piece in the morning. I had to make a lot of changes to both my evening and morning routines, but I was able to make things work and get places on time.

I made an evening checklist, which included things like - put tomorrow's clothes out, put breakfast on the table, put everything to go to work either by the door or in the car, etc. Basically, figure out everything that needed to be done in the morning, have it already laid out and ready to go so. And I didnt allow myself to go to bed until the checklist was complete.

Also, timed myself on how long it actually took to drive to work, walk into the building and settle in(conservative estimate), and made sure I was out the door with that amount of time to spare. Also, timed how long it took me to get ready at home and worked that in to figure out when to get up. Hi Teacher - I am new here myself and have been reading the board for a few weeks. I do not have ADHD but I DO live by lists to stay organized, life can move fast and we ALL need help that works for us to stay on track. The suggestions by "chocoholic" are great and are the type of things I do-take things I HAVE to remember out to the car the night before, plan ahead for the next morning, etc. I also set the clock in my bedroom AND my bathroom 5-8 minutes early..when I see I am going to be late I wrap things up and still get to work on time since I really have more time than I thought. Hope you find what works for you!

Try this...its over the phone..you probably have to pay long distance too. I've read alot of good stuff about her...she's based in New York and she's very affordable. Classes with many other ADD adults in a conference call type setting is offered...great selection of coached classes. http://www.thrivewithadd.com/coaching

Check out local ADHD support groups like CHADD...although they are mostly children oriented they do have many adult support groups or will turn you in the right direction. Good luck.

Hi all, this is my first time in this forum, so I am a bit nervous, but also really relieved.  It seems like I am isolated at times because I can't always share my thoughts and feelings with others, and no one really understands completely.  I am a special education teacher, have been for 7 years now, who just received her Master's degree.  I was diagnosed with ADD and anxiety disorder when I was 24 or 25, I am now 30.   I was writing to ask about the ADD coaching, what exactly is it and how do I find one? I am having major struggles with time management and punctuality and I am at a point that it will really hurt me if the problem continues.  I have difficulty waking up in time at times, but since taking Adderall that has improved some, but I can't seem to be organized enough or move quickly enough to get to work in enough time.  I always forget something, or take too long to do something, and make it in after I should be.  I make it in enough time to get my students, but not to get there at the same time the other staff does.  This is soo frustrating for me, and I don't know what else I can do about it.  It is costing me financially, and emotionally, and is making me feel really lousy about myself.  I can't understand how someone who is intelligent enough to write an A+ Master's Thesis, can't figure out how to get to work on time or do simple things like that right? I would love to know who does ADD coaching, I am in SBend, IN, but it's doubtful someone local does this or I would have found out about them by now.  Any help or suggestions.  Thanks for listening( well reading!).  It helps to know someone else is out there

Thanks for the replies...please keep the suggestions going.  I did the timing thing and I am starting the checklist thing too.  I checked into the coaching thing, and while it seems helpful, I don't know if I can afford between 5 and 0 a month, regardless of how helpful it is. I am working with a teacher's salary you know. Ha ha.  Thanks for the input all, keep it going.
