Memory skills - Mnemonics | ADHD Information

As a child, long before an official ADD diagnosis, I intuitively used memory tricks like mnemonics. I found these methods very powerful and, in fact, I have learned better memory skills than most 'normal' people.

I can easily memorize long lists of items or details....hear a phone number once and remember it for weeks, years or decades....etc.

What other techniques are you using? What works for you?

I failed all the memory games with other kids as a child. I just can't remember anything in the short term. For some reason I can memorize tidbits from 5-10 years ago that keep popping back up. Don't ask me why.

Writing things down is the only thing that works for me

Negative Side Effects Include: Excessive amounts of post its, scrap paper, and generally cluttered mess at my office desk and home.

The fun part is trying to find that number a few days later when I need it and having to dig through all the papers then not being able to locate it.
