Made it through 3rd grade!
To all our children who made it to the next grade or gave it their best shot.
To all us parents who did our best dealing with the school and helping our children (cause we deserve some claps too I used flaxseed oil in protein shakes. She never noticed. I make dishes with salmon also. this is our last week of school yeah!!!!!!!!! i know my daughter will do just fine, but my son is coming along ok, he has to be passed on because of the iep, but i hope he'll be ok for 4th grade. he has to go to summer school. Hi everyone, We are so happy that my 8 year old made it through 3rd grade! In our state there is a dreaded test that all third graders have to take and if they don't pass they will be retained. We had my daughter tested by the school for ADD and decided not to medicate. I instead looked at a diet change and Pedi-Active natural supplement. We also had a Hurricane that interrupted school. She worked very hard to pay attention and stay focused. The teacher noticed a difference in her after a month and she went from reading in a beginning 2nd grade level to at grade level in one year! Lois Congratulations I know that this time of year I am so afraid that my son's teacher is going to call and need to talk about retention..... That would crush my son and it is my largest fear..... YEAH for you and kudos on the no meds. I am so glad that is working for you. What kind of diet changes did you do?My 8 year old just made it thorugh 3rd grade too!!! He didn't get to take the FACT b/c he was sick BUT he passed the NRT. He did great and I am so proud of him! We are using LISTOL now. I just read the information on CHADD and they are not real excited about the natural supplements .. but ummmm .. teh stims aren't exaclty innocuous are they? We are going to try doing it without meds next year and with a tutor. I changed her diet by using alot of organic products. organic milk, regular butter, organic sugar, etc. There are a lot of natural products out there. Even Frito-lay has natural chips. We also read labels.. stay away from MSG and Hydogenated oils. I thought I couldn't do it, but started slowly and the family hardly noticed. We went to camp recently with the girl scouts and they were giving Fruit loops for breakfast and my daughter said "I want to eat something healthy" and opted for fruit instead. She realizes that she is doing so much better now and doesn't want to go back. What is Listol? Is that a med?I have heard of Flaxseed oil and Omega 3 fatty acid oils work. I have not tried either yet but going to give it a try.
