SEX on Ritalin? | ADHD Information

hmmmm, well I've never tried it but NOW I'm curious.......

Sooner or later, someone had to stoop low enough to ask this and it may as well be me.

Better or worse?

I was more interested when I was on my ritalin and less interested while taking Strettera.

At this year's ADDA Conference Dr Hallowell talked about Ritalin being very helpful for woman with ADD when it comes to reaching orgasm.

I take adderall and have found it increased my sex drive as well as the sensations, however I have noticed I am not as firm as off of it.

Here's a question to go with the first:  How many of you are also on antidepressants?  I ask because many of the popular anti's have a side effect of lower libido, and many who have ADD are also diagnosed w/depression.

I have been on antidepressants for 10 years and various forms of amphetamines for 8 years.  I have recently been taken off SSRI anti's but I'm still on my Adderall and I have noticed a significant increase in my libido.  My conclusion, for me its the antidepressants.

I dunno....I think it would be kind of uncomfortable. I'd rather do it on a bed..... I find I have a much lower sex drive on adderall.  I am both less interested in sex and less functional, physically.

I was beginning to think it was the normal, gradual decreasing lobido that men experience with age.  But then last summer Idid not take adderall for a whole month while on a roadtrip and was amazed at how my sexual desire rebounded.  I felt like a pubescent teeny-bopper again! Definitely less interested.  I think it is the irritability that Ritalin causes that makes me not interested.  And I'm ADD so before Ritalin, I was no fun because I just wanted it over.  It seemed to take too long.  ADD sucks!  LOL I just wait for my Ritalin to wear off at the end of the workday, and then the compulsive libido kicks in again.  Means that I am less "distracted" throughout the day . Sex is highly stimulating (so is pornography).  The meds just take away some of the need for stimulation.[QUOTE=ADD & lovin it!]

We should ask you the same question lovin it ....but the drive is deff lower.

I considered my drive high before and high after.  If anything, it improved my participation by keeping me focused for extended periods.

No question: much better. I can FOCUS on what I'm doing rather than the passing car in the street, the furnace coming on, or any one of the other 1000 distractions that are always lurking...

(Methylphenidate only)

athomas38531.8483796296Ritalin sends my libido into hyper-drive (which isn't as fun as it sounds) It's a huge distraction when I'm trying to study. In fact this whole thread is making me a little randy

My drive varies drastically from high to low to high to low, depending on day and mood and what's going on in my life, to be able to blame or give kudos to adderall.   Adderall gives me a headache at the end of the day, and headaches don;t exactly make me feel hot. Adderall also turns me into a super obsessive hypercritical loner who wants to untie knots all day...

This is going to sound bad, I watch T.V. while having sex I don't get bored I do get distracted though. Anything from the news to die hard

That does sound bad, glad I'm not your partner. :-(

I never got to have sex on Ritalin when I was taking it. Adderall creates either a nervousness or a euphoria that want to shunt the blood to extremities other than where you want it for sex. Hard to get it up with Adderall. Viagra takes care of it though.
