ADHD and food dye allergies
Hi- I am brand new to the boards, have just discovered them today in trying to find some helpful info regarding food dye allergies or sensitivities. My nine year old son has been diagnosed with ADHD since 2000 and has been on Strattera for about a year and a half and we started Concerta last fall in addition to the Strattera. He recently has been diagnosed with some corneal problems and his eye pressures are very high so the Strattera needs to be weaned and he has to be taken off of it as soon as school ends this week. He has recently been having some major behavioral issues at home and at school and we have discovered a relationship between his outbursts and what he eats. Red and yellow dyes are definitely culprits, there may be others but taking these two things out of his diet has controlled 95% of the behavior problems. I am having a terrible time finding good information and would love to find a good homeopathic physician to take him too but don't even know where to start to find one. Anybody in the central Ohio area know of a good homeopath? Or how to find one? The school has not been very supportive in this matter and I feel like they think I am making excuses for him but the change has been pretty amazing. If anyone has any good resources for me I would appreciate them. Thanks!have you thought about dye free things? that works. i know it's hard to
try to find things that won't make your child go crazy, i've found
sugar less things to be ok, but the kids hate the taste, so i go with
diet pop, dye free medicines, otc. stuff, i haven't tried the natural
stuff but i heard it works. good luck....
