Trying Tenex for the 1st time

Hi I am new here.  My daughter, 6 now, has always (from the time she was born) been extremely difficult.  We started behavioral therapy whenever she was 3.  We started meds whenever she turned 4.  She does not need sleep and can do for days without sleeping.  We have been on different meds....ritalin, concerta, strattera, back to ritalin and now that we are seeing a child pysch.  he has put her on Adderall XR and 3md melatonin (an herbal med to help with sleep).  He also diagnosed her with having Childhood Anxiety Disorder as well as the ADHD.

All the meds took the impulsiveness away, but not the aggressive violentness our family endures.  Which is why we drive 2 hours one way to see a Child Psychiastrist.

The adderall helped with her irritabily, aggressiveness, mood swings, violence and impulsiveness.  The adderall has been like a miracle that we can be a "normal" family, no yelling screaming for no reason and we can go out in public and not have a fit.  Here is the problem at approx 3:00 pm she is back to her pre med morning self for the rest of the evening.  We have tried giving her 5 mg of reg adderall at 3, which then helps but then she does not sleep even with the melatonin.  We just went for our monthly appointment and he put her on 5mg Tenex(a blood pressure med) at 3pm.  Has anyone used this for this purpose?

Here is my other question....we used to use private tumbling lessons once a week as a reward for taking her meds(if and only if she took her meds without any fighting), because that is the ONLY thing she values.  Now that it is summer, and the dance studio is closed, does anyone else have any ideas for a reward for a 6 year old who values nothing, and I mean nothing,  but dance and tumbling lessons for taking her meds?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

first of all i can relate to you totally, my son was the same way when he was younger, now he's 9 and on strattera for add, clondine for sleep, and we still have some issues but other than that he's a good kid. we had problems with adderall as well, i hated it and the dr. took him off and put him on strattera, 36 mg now, what a difference. maybe you could ask your dr. to give a different medicine since the side effects of the adderall are bad??? the reason why she's actng the way she's acting might be the adderall, look into it. because my son was aggressive, mean when he was on the adderall too. have you tried swimming, gymnastics, cheerleading, camps? stuff like that she may be interested in. i'm not sure what to do with the fighting when taking meds, i guess keep doing the reward system, or use reverse psychology, like if you don't take your meds you can get sick or you need them stuff like that. i hope i helped a little for you. by the way my daughters name is reilly. cool name......
