Drug Study and Research Participant | ADHD Information

GOOD—me too, I call it 'Adderall XXR' (Shire--SPD-465-304).
What are the ethics involved with discussing this (publicly at least)?  This topic is not covered in the consent.
I have been on open label for three weeks now (started at 25mg, last week went up to 32.5 mg).  I was on a placebo during the double blind (no doubt in my or my doctor’s mind).  This is the only drug I have taken (for adhd) and have nothing to compare it to.  Have you ever tried a stimulant medicine before?
I have noticed that I do not talk as much as I used to—that is the only personality change I’ve noticed.  I can be quite when I should.  I would like to discuss this more with you.  I am going to private message you my email address.

I have been on a research medication for ADHD for about two months.  The medication is compared to Adderall XR.  Before I started the study, I was on Strattera.  I'm now off of the placebo and for sure getting the medication, I can certainly feel the difference.  Although, at times I feel like I've lost my personality edge.  Anyone else been on study drugs or have information?

While I've not been in a drug study, specifically related to ADD, I have done quite a bit of reading on "the placebo effect." Many people taking placebos (either active or inactive) show improvements or even a lack of symptoms period, from placebos. This indicates that the brain is highly involved in "cures" but in some unexpected ways.

If you're at all interested in this, read the chapter on placebos in Dr. Andrew Weil's facinating book, "Health and Healing."
