Hi, well I have been on several medications throughout my life. I too am extremely moody. When I was on Ritalin (@19) the doctors put me on Welbutrin. I was on Welbutrin for three years. It works really well. And at one point that was the only thing I was on. Also now they have the extended release which is nice. Hope this helps.

here's what works for me...
i had bad mood swings on concerta.
what helps is taking it in the morning before you eat anything and then wait 10 to 15 minutes and then eat. it sounds stupid but it made a hell of a differnce for me.
orrrrrr
what i do now is take a small dosage of straterra along with my concerta .
straterra can work as kind of a mild anti depressant (i had no intention of using prozac or anyhing really out there)
hope you find what works well for your daughter
Thank you all for you input. It's nice to hear what other have experienced!!!If the mood swings are due to the stimulant, an antidepressant probably won't help. The 'official way' to treat moodiness is to use a long-acting stimulant or switch to another medicine. Alternatively you can add a little of an immediate release stimulant at the end of the extended release dose so the blood concentration doesn't drop so fast.I've been taking Paxil and Carbatrol ER along with Concerta. However, I don't believe the Concerta has done much for my focusing or concentration. Perhaps it's helped a little with my mind spinning out of control. I'm not sure, so my doctor has me weaning myself off the Concerta to see if I feel any difference w/o it.
