Well, its no secret, you do have ADHD. Print this list and give it to your GP to ponder. He may not be familiar with it but tell him to look it up. If you are lucky and can see a Neurologist, do so before seeing any Psychologist etc. Always good to have the physical health of your mind and body evaluated first for mimicking causes for ADHD before having your mental health evaluated. Many people find a resolution of alot of symptoms when they address Diabetes, Thyroid ism, nutrition etc. If you do it the other way around...the Shrink may not consider a physical cause for your mental issues and at least rule them out. Its at least worth your time to do it this way. Everyone should have a complete physical!!!! It goes with out saying (but I'll do it anyways
) don't forget to mention you have ADHD or at least its symptoms, for the best results.
You are a mirror image of me and most others here, I'm sure. I have acquired a new skill though. Letting things slide and using the TV as a mind number. I can actually stay immobile for great stretches of time this way with nary a rushed thought sliding through my brain. At first I had to force myself but now I can just go comatose on command!
However...a boring commercial and it all goes to hell fast! I have actually gotten so bad at this, that whole days go by and I barely participated in any of them.
So I'm trying a new med and hopefully a new balance in my life. Sounds like you are on the way to. Good on ya, mate!
I don't know if anyone wants to read my LONG list of symptoms that I've been coming up with. it's a long list and I know that not all the symptoms will fit but it's what I've been coming up with.
Just thought I'd share:
