ADHD Specialists..are there any?




	ADHD Specialists..are there any? Hi Parents, I have a 9yo son with ADHD. He sees a pediatric neurologist to get his meds but this guy has never been super helpful and I'm trying to find a psychologist who specializes in ADHD kids. (I'm in the Tampa Fl area but am willing to go wherever so I myself can talk to someone)....Just wondering if any of you have found a specialist and talked to someone as a parent, to discuss ways to deal with your ADHD child. My son doesn't want to talk to anyone but I NEED to....any thoughts? Thanks so much for any feedback, this board is so wonderful:) Georgia I would try a neuropsychologist. My son has just begun to see one for neurofeedback, and he is ENJOYING therapy. He thinks it's a lot of fun, and the therapist is amazed at how well he is doing. Warning though...it's expensive, and our insurance does not cover it. At this point, though, I will cash in CDs to do it. I'd run like hell from anyone claiming to only be an expert on one disorder. That would probably mean he'd see it in every kid he sees and not see anything else. psm090438525.565back to the top I have a 9 year old with severe ADHD and he sees a specialist that only deals with ADD children and ADHD children but we are from ms....Our pediatrician recommended several professionals in the area that she knows and trusts to us.
