Help for a 3 year old
Dr. Amen is very controversial. Your daughter sounds a lot like my son when he was a toddler and he has high functioning autism. He made weird noises too in his sleep and fought me for everything because he couldn't stand transitioning from one thing to another and he had sensory issues. I'm not saying your child has high functioning autism, but she may or she may have early onset bipolar, if mood disorders or substance abuse are in the family. Dr. Amen's idea of ADHD almost makes ADHD Six exactly the same as bipolar. He is not well regarded among other professionals. Anyways, I have a few links you may want to try. You can post there too and get other ideas. It sounds like a lot more than ADHD. Good luck. I am new here to this site but when I read yours it took me back three years with my son. He is and still is just like this. The dr. were the same with me. The only thing that saved my sanity at that time was our school district. we were lucky to live in a disrict that has sped preschool. They came out and tested him. He started when he was 3 in a regular elementry school 4 days a week. They were able to help him so much we were actually able to go places for short times as a family again. He is still in the program going into the 1st grade this fall. I don't know if your distric has this help but it's worth looking into. My son has since been diagnosed with adhd, odd and slight autism. The cats thing may not get better though. My son now tries to put ours in the fridge. |
