What is your ADDERALL DOSE? | ADHD Information

I would like to get an idea of what doctors are prescribing. And how high my sons dose is. My son is 8 and he takes Adderall xr 30mg once a day.my 6 yr old takes 10mg of adderall. He was on ritalin but didn't work out for him. He began adderall one week ago. Does your son suffer from side effects? The only side effect we can tell is he is always picking at his lip or picking his nose. He doesn't even realize he is doing it. When he is not on the meds he doesn't do this.Right now he is in the habbit of telling everybody when he farts. Grandma says he just likes to see my reaction. Sometimes I just have to tell myself not everything is do to being ADHD, just being a little boy is reason enough to act gross. LOLI'm on 75mg adderall xr and 10mg quick-releaseMy daughter is 9 and 70 or so  lbs and 4'5 and she is on Adderall 15mg.. she was on Adderall XR 15mg but she was having a very hard time sleeping so we switched her to see if it would help.. Her Dr. goes by her hight and weight and how she is doing on it.. she was started out on 10mgs.. and that was 2 years ago.. we just moved up to 15mg a few months ago..  I hope this helpsJust a little piece of info: Adderall doses are NOT based on age, height, and weight. They are based on the individual's brain's metabolism of the drug. Therefore, a child could be on a larger dose than an adult. However, if a person is losing a significant amount of weight, or if their growth is being stunted, a lower dose or a different med. is the typical route taken.i think it takes longer in a 450 pound 7 foot male to metabolize 5 mg than a 3 year old 45 pound girl. 

I just got diagnosed w/adhd. My dr is trying to find out what dosage works. For the 1st 6 days I was on Adderall 5mg, 1x/day then I moved up to 5mg, 2x/day for the next 8 days. I went & saw her today to tell her the 5mg, 2x/day didnt even affect me. For the last 2 days, I've tried the 10mg in the am & 5mg in the afternoon & I still dont see any difference. I asked her today if I can move up to 20mg in the am & 10mg in the pm & she just told me for the next 3 wks to try 10mg in am & 10mg in pm. How will I/she know what dosage is the best? How will I know if this medication is working? I'm still drinking boat loads of coffee.

 

 

adderallXR 30mg

Generic immediate-release, 20mgs 4x/day. 20mgs lasts about 3 hours for me.

my son was diagnosed with adhd and asd at age of 9 he has uncontrollable rages and now is risperidone 2mg a.m and 2 mg p.m the dr took him off it few weeks ago after overturning his diagonsis saying he had just got a bad temper, i am now fighting for the right diagnosis , he used to be on ritalin which did no good, after being of risperidone for only few days the rages became full blown like they were before he went on to risperidone, i plagued the dr and now he has put him back on to it which has kept the violence to minimul, so me and my other children dont have to live in fear of what might happen, he is a lot more stable on them than he is off them , I'm currently taking the IR version of Adderal 20 mg 3x/day have been on it a month and feel only slightly better w/ my focus.but it is better then my pre adderal days. I worry that my doctor might think I'm med seeking if I ask to raise the dose. Have you had any experiences with adderal vs Dexedeine or Desoxsyn (sp?) Would one of these two be more efficacious? I've had poor results with ritalin, concerta and straterra. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
