I know the feeling. I've had somewhere around 25 different jobs. I also was a stay at home mom for 15 years. Needless to say my job success rate is non existent. I really would like to find something I'm good at...my LAM (living as married) and I have decided that I should applying for SSI. I hear it is difficult to get if you don't have problems other than just ADD, but fortunate me I have other problems too...Two neck surgeries, Three intestinal surgeries, lower back problems, pain in left shoulder, and thyroid problem. The meds I'm on don't help the intestinal problems....

I'm sorry I just took off on a personal out flow of whoa is me.
Anyway keep your chin up...that perfect job just might be your next one!!!
LTC138531.9480439815resistance when one door closes another door opens so they say. I am sorry you are going through a tough time and I pray things get better for you. My husband has been let go for stupid things and he only lasts at a place for 3 years tops due to BS.My first time here, I am so happy to find other people like me. I got fired/quit two weeks ago. Its the 3rd time in a year. Lots fof financial challenges for me as well. One of the part time jobs I have managed to hang on to offered me some additional hours, so that helps.
I wish I had founf this forum when I lost my first job in 1968!!!
LOL thanks for the support out there

Got fired today. It was only a mild surprise and although it has the possibility of causing some serious financial hardship, I am taking it rather well. Practice makes perfect they say. I immediately thought well, I hated the damn job anyway.....[QUOTE=The Resistance!] I WANT to work. I need to find something that will help keep my sanity intact though. No office, I hope moving around, outside sales, working for myself, some variety........

Until recently, I was a Survey Assistant (Tech) and was going for full Surveyor status. It meets all your reqirements and is a very challenging job in a great way. You can take less than a year in related courses and work as the Surveyor with your own Assistant BUT your boss will have to be a fully trained Surveyor to over see your work is correct. He'll sign off on it. Other wise, every morning you go in get your job info and leave with your crew guy until end of the day. You can use Autocad to draft plans and every day is somewhere new. You are always calling your own shots, in either position, when in out in the field. Each has thier own part to do and the other relies on that..visa versa. I did it in the mountains/ countryside but you can do it in cities or on the ocean doing ocean floor mapping..etc.etc.
well I missed the reason for that post above this one.... bugzappers38535.2957060185Thanks all and this is the best support I've ever had online.
I've been in your shoes also. I was devastated too, but mostly because of my pride. I really didn't fit in well with that job.
Just think of all the possibilities now! You wouldn't have this great adventure if you hadn't been fired!
I have a better job now, and it fits me.
Keep your chin up! Try a temp service. They can lead to a good job and they keep you jumping! Which is good for all of us ADD people!
This may sound stupid, but it kept me in a job for 10 years and gave some experience to go to other better jobs with. I worked at Kinko's. It seems like a sh*tty dead end job, and it can be. But for the ADD'er it seems to be alomst perfect. Constantly shifting problems, new challenges, no day offers the same things. THe pay sucks, the benefits rock, and people from the outside kinda look at you like you are an idiot for working there, but hey, if it keeps you employed....

I know that feeling so well.
I've been in my current job for 7 years, and that's an incredible period of stability for a guy who usually keeps a job for less than six months, before the inevitable "I'm not happy with your performance, so get out" from the boss.
The company I currently work for are 'downsizing', and I fully expect to be one of the downsized in the Autumn. I'm not looking forward to a return to the cycle of being fired every few months, but on the other hand 7 years in an office is far too long. I hate office work - not least because sitting at a desk all day gets me too fat.
Anyway, enough about me. Good luck mate, and I hope it all works out for you.
I've definetely been there. I've found that the hard experiences of my past somehow do help me to realize that I can get through the hard times that come up now.
To be honest, I have been devastated by an experience of being fired and have also enjoyed the outcome of an experience of being fired. Hope it all turns out well for you.
