Whats "Normal" | ADHD Information

slow down.  she is too young for meds.  My adhd daughter acted the same way.  work with your daughter if one punishment doesn't work try another.  My daughter wasn't on meds till she was 7, then only because she was struggling in school.  she is 11 and takes a non stimulant med everyday.

you know your child best.  if all fails start over with what did work at the begining.  go for a second opinion.

Before you accept a diagnosis of ADHD, I would try everything possible to see if you can alleviate the symptons without stims. Eliminate/reduce sugar intake, avoid artificial food colouring, fish oil helps and behaviour management. If all of that fails, you may want to get her diagnosed...good luck.
Ok here goes. I have been up all night researching and racking my brain trying to get a grasp on ADHD.  I have a 4 yr old daughter  who likes to pull out her hair and eat it.  So like a good mommy I took her to the Dr. Who reccomended that she see a therapist. So we went.  He suggested a more stringent time out plan which has worked for that  problem.  Only now this "therapist" seems to want to diagnose her with ADHD. He asked me several question from  the conners test which mostly sounds like our daughter .  She is always on the go constantly bouncing off the wall. Always talking she does interupt. ect ect ect ..... she seems to socialize well and  plays well with others.  Where does a "normal" hyperactive 4 yr old stop and a ADHD 4 yr old begin?  She is easily frusterated when i try to teach her new  things and gives up easily. I am at my wits end and dont know how to help my child . My husband and i are Vhemently against the use of stimulants or other Rx drugs unless it is absolutly nessecary(ms) . Any help or support that anyone here can offer i would be so grateful . Thank
