Clonopin

Our daughter is four now and she came to live with us when her mother could not take care of her.  She was taken from the home due to neglect from a state agency, we do not know her mother.  She was 18 months when we got her and she was a terror.  We went through almost three years of hell until someone finally agreed to see her.  The first visit the doctor put her on Clonipin.  I know she is ADHD but I too had concerns about Ritalin.  I was surprised that she put her on blood pressure medicine but it seems to work.  It calms her down enough to think before she acts and she is understanding her behavior more.  Before she was totally driven by her emotions and now she thinks about the consequences of her behavior.  Anyone else had success with Clonopin?I take Klonopin, but not for ADHD---for panic attacks. it's major function is as a tranquilizer. It can be habit forming; it's in the Valium family. Does her mother have any mental health diagnoses? Good luck.we dont know much about mother except she was very young when she had her.  I did not know it was habit forming.  thanks for letting me know. WOW.Oh no, I typed the wrong medicine it is Clonodine or Catapress.Ok. I don't know much about Clonadine :)Hello!I have two boys with ADHD.One of them is 11 and the other seven. Both of my boys have taken Clonadine or Catapres. It was given to them each evening at eight p.m. to help them to sleep when their Ritalin wore off.It seemed to work for my oldest son for a few years. Then he started sleep walking and having night terrors.I did some research on the net and it seems that in certain individuals the drug may cause this effect.I have since taken him off the drug and he now takes Risperidol along with his Ritalin. The sleep problem is now rectified.
