Help please!! New Generic Adderall | ADHD Information
I had the same problem when I got Barr brand the first time. I called my doctor, he wrote me a new prescription which I took to another pharmacy, who called my insurance company and explained the situation. My insurance company paid for the 2nd prescription, due to the circumstances.
Just shows you how we're all different. Mallinkrot, Eon and Abrika brands work just fine for me. Barr is less effective and the side effects are more pronounced. Unfortunately, most of the major chain pharmacies only carry Barr now. :-(
So...my advice is to call your doctor and explain. Incidentally, my doctor took my word that I'd flush the old pills and just wrote the prescription - I didn't have to 'hand over' the old pills.
Yesterday when I left the doctor, i took my prescription of Adderall to the same chain of pharmacy I always use. I have been taking Adderall for as long as its been out. It was a godsend compare to Ritalin. Im in my 30's and Ive had ADD since I was a child. Well yesterday, the pharmacy only had a few of the blue generic tablets left, and gave me the rest in a new tablet that I had to ask what it was?? They told me that is was "EXACTLY" the very same thing. My co-pay is so high on the BRAND, that I cant afford the "real" adderall anymore but have been doin ok with the "blue" tablets. Well to my "sickening suprise" I took my afternoon dose of adderall with this new generic

and It made me very irritable, agitated, and sent me running to the bathroom. My husband almost took me to the ER. This new Generic made me tons worse than I am without my adderall. I couldnt focus, I was awful, and had to take something to help me calm down. Just the opposite of what adderall is suppose to do. What can I do about this?? I cant go the whole month with these awful generic adderalls?? I know you cant take medicine back,..but should I take the bottle back to my doctor?? give it to them,..for a new script so I can go get it filled at another pharmacy?? My husband said he didnt care if he had to pay cash for them,..since my insurance already paid for them....they wouldnt do it again in the same month of course. PLEASE HELP!!!

I got in touch with the pharmacist a couple days ago after I wrote this post as well as my Doctor, and he didnt seem...(a bit) hesitant to order me the blue generics. It has "Cor" on one side,..and 10 on the other. Do you know who makes these?? These are fine with me,..but of course the real Adderall is the best.
Those Mallinkrot Sp?,...are AWFUL
for me. I dont think its adderall.?? It seemed more like bad ritilian to me.
I must have been allergic to one of the fillers. It made me feel like I had drank 2 pots of coffee, and my head was splitting,..and I felt like I was gonna jump out of my skin. For me it reminded me of the old ritalin when I was young. Got the jitters real bad. The other Adderall, the ones I have now, gives me no jitters, but does the job. I focus well, get my things done,..etc. The Mallies made me so sick.
Im so happy it worked out for me,..and Im happy that you have good luck with the Mallies. I guess we are all different,..when It comes to the "fillers" in these meds. I researched the fillers, and the blue ones I have now....have 4 different completely different fillers than the Mallies?
Are you sure that is Adderall?? The Mallie company has tried to call me twice because I left them an e-mail. They are anxious to get intouch with me. Said itwas a pharmacist,..but I wanted to mak sure I got my replacment adderall before I called them back. The pharmacist at my drug store just took them back with no explaination. That was kinda wierd. Also my husband told him though about the sick reaction I had.
I just wanted to write and tell you that I feel back to normal with my blue, adderlll, even though they are generic. What do the Barr ones look like??
I would like to know. My doctor didnt even get involved afterall. The pharmacist at the pharmacy said just bring them back and he would switch them out. He ordered them and they were there in 48 hours. I didnt think the pharmacys took meds back like that,..but sure happy they did. whew!!
