get straterra out of system | ADHD Information

it tool my daughter 4 weeks with the help of adderall to get it into her system so I figured it would take at least four weeks to get it out of her system.

why are you going off.  the only side effect right now is she is tired by mid afternoon and needs to take a nap.

We recently took our daughter off of Concerta and was told that it would take about 6 weeks for it to be out of her system completely.  Not sure on Strattera. Sorry.

6 weeks is way off, in the case of Ritalin (which has a half life of a mere 2-4 hours) It's gone in 20 hours. Don't let the concerta people trick you - there is no such drug called concerta, all they did was take normal Ritalin and put it in a time-release capsule.

Strattera is much longer as much as 2 weeks. But after 4 or 5 days it should not be a problem. I'm big on sweating  things like that out of my body in a sauna, by drinking lots of water and the use of TURBO-LAX tm (that was a joke, 4 normal laxitives should do the job)

does anyone have any idea about how long it will take for straterra to be comletely flushed from the system? when you start strattera there is an "angry period" i was wondering if the same is true for going off of it? has anyone notcied anything like this?addlad45638540.9278472222

strattera just changed me too much, i feet like plastic, i didnt feel natrual. i felt like a human that had been refined by a pharmacutical company. lol hmm  i felt like a had a lombotomy. every thing was HAPPY but really really slow.  i hope someone knows what im talking about.  i stopped taking 18mg daily about 2 weeks ago and i still feel slow and sluggish and can't enjoy music!! ya im not crying or anything drastic but  i used to love music before and becuase i am a musician, it is a total downer. it's like it changed how my brain worked and hope and pray to god that its not permanent! my p.e. coach sumed it up best by saying "andy, are you on drugs? you've lost your spark! you're a s slow as mollases!"  lynnann, how long has your daughter been off of strattera? how is adderall going for you?

Hi.....

I'm going off Strattera now......my doctor told me that it would take at least 3 weeks for Strattera to leave my system.......But.....now....I'm wondering since I started taking Adderall during this time also that .....I'm experiencing withdrawal symptoms from Strattera.....I've been extremely tired....no energy....not much of an appetite either......any comments.....Thank you....Peace

ummm how long ago did you start going off of it?  how come you quit it? i dont think it matters if you started taking adderall then because i think strattera has to get out of your blood.  ugh i dont even know why they call it an add medecine. i heard it was orgianlly made to be an anti-depressant.  Addlad: Sounds like the medicine changed the balance of brain chemicals, but no worries it's temporary. Lots of water, lots of running, lots of vegetables, maybe some B-Vitamins, use a sauna if you can. You'll be back to normal in no time.try before bed time as is time released. Our son had no real problems on this medacine. Grew and gained weight on it.To me all Adhd meds should be used only on ful stomachs only. I wonder if a long term study on all these meds has ever been done and the effects to humans. This only made concentration better which I read is the thing meds are made for.Schools think you do this they will do better. I disagree expecially if it's not how they learn things best. You do not have to be still to learn. Our son learned his phonics on a Audio CD while moving around. We used ACE's phonic Cd's. He still struggled for these 2 reasons Tracking issue/ decoding vomels problem.   ya i walked up a set of stairs at a baseball game and thought my heart was going to explode. i felt really moody too, i avoided playing music with my friends becuase i was afraid that if i messed, up i would start crying or do something really childish I feel ya addlad, I'm a musician, too, and Sraterra has been a weird
journey for me, too....
After being on Adderall for about five years (from 40-60mgs/day) the doc
put me on Strattera, cause she felt it would be better than amphetamines
& be more "constant".

Well, she put me on way too much, (80/day), and I was just wiped....Then
she took me down to 40, but I still needed one 20mg Adderall XR (or two)
a day to not be drowsy. But then after a gig, where I found myself running
out of breath faster than usual, I unloaded my car at home, and felt
breathless & that my heart was racing, even while lying still!

So anyway, went to the doc, then a cardiologist, and he said I've had
elevated blood pressure for a while now, and I'm going back to see if it
enlarged my heart or not. So, since the years on Adderall found me with
no elevated pressure, with all the times I've had it checked, I can only
assume that the Strattera is what screwed with me!

So, I laid off the Adderall for this week, in between my visits with the
cardiologist, to see if that makes a difference, which I assume it won't.
So, I'll probably just throw the rest of my Strattera down the toilet, and
hope I didn't do any permanent harm......

Anybody else find rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, or raised blood
pressure from this?
