When being around people | ADHD Information
When I'm around people I get really anxious and sort of hyper. Due to both ADD/ADHD and Generalized Anxiety Disorder I believe. Anyways, the thing is that, for instance yesterday I was talking with a friend of mine on the phone and there are times when I can get rather hyper around him. I've been friends with him for about 2 years now. Anyways, when I talk to him I end up stuttering, and saying a bunch of quotes from television like The Simpsons or South Park just out of random. When I did that online once he's told me that that's annoy him, and it's okay for him or anyone to tell me that. I believe that what I have is echolalia. I'd like to know how to control it when I'm around people like him. The thing is, I feel really comfortable around this guy, he's hyper around me sometimes and I like being hyper around him. We're friends. But, I don't want to drive the friendship to the point of it breaking up, like wearing out the friendship because of the way I act. I really act impulsive around him more than anyone else right now. I think he can tell by now that I'm ADD/ADHD. He hangs out with people with that stuff I think. Have you ever tried jotting a few ideas of things you could talk about. During the conversation you could refer back to it.
