The new name for ADD in 2010 | ADHD Information

According to my daughters new psychologist who is really into ADD/ADHD and specializes in it shared with us the new name it would be called in 2010.  The new  name will be Executive Function Deficiet Disorder.  He told us he is getting a book published within the next few months.  I do like this psychologist he is nice and knowledgible and does not believe in medicating kids unless there are no other options.

OMG, Think of all the Paperwork, all the retraining of the "Mundanes"! they will be wanting extra pay to type and say a "New" name. There will be Conferences to discuss and debate the change. The ADHD Support Groups will go out of Business. Books on ADHD will be taken of the shelves as out of date. Publishers will lose millions. Writers will lose their lucrative book deals. The world will go into a spin and war will be declared on the Terrorists who are proposing this. The C.I.A./F.B.I. M.I.5./ M.I.6 will be set on full Alert to track these Terrorists and the G8. will be under intense pressure to stop this "Group" and keep the planet safe for ADHDers their Political and Academic Allies.

Any luck treating fybromyalgia and ADD?  I have found that good meds for one screws the other.  Ritalin is really good for my focus, but effective doses mess with my sleep.

I read on another site where the author was calling it "Attention Expansion Advantage". This focuses on the positives etc etc I much prefer this approach than the negativity of a "disorder"

That sounds more consonant with what they now know about it. However, I'm waiting for the scientific physiological evidence that shows via PET, fMRI, or MEG scan that there is a physiological correlate that goes along with and explains the behavior patterns. Intuitively, I know there is one and have read a bit of research that confirms this (when I was researching a fibromyalgia/AD(H)D link) but it doesn't seem widely known. My psychiatrist wasn't aware of it (and I didn't feel like arguing with him), so I'm guessing there hasn't been a lot of this type of research done. Maybe it's because time using those machines is so expensive and they generally reserve it for researching lesions for things such as alzheimer's and parkinson's. Not that I begrudge that research, I'd just like to see more done on behavioral patterns that exist primarily as a clinical construct.

Let us know when this guy's book comes out. Could be interesting!

I will let you know when the book gets released and the title.
