I started Adderall XL Four Days Ago...... | ADHD Information

I was nervous when I took my first pill, and then got really nervous when I felt it kick in for the first time. After I settled down, throughout that first day there is no doubt that I had increased mental clarity and energy. They started me on 15mg which is the lowest dose.

The next day, more of the same. Definitely more focused, although I think the prescription should probably bumped to 20mg. Energy all day long.

The bottom line is that I have indeed had more enrgy, I have been more focused, the insane food obsession is gone, although I have not experienced nausea. I go to the gym and I am in no hurry to leave. I feel like this may be a turning point in my life.

I really don't have any negatives for now.
Glad it is working for you, but just so you know....15mg is not the lowest dose. Adderall XR comes in 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30mg pills. They can also be broken open and taken in partial pill form. Also, be careful not to "bump-up" your dose too quickly because your body can build a tolerance very quickly. Good luck and keep us posted! Thanks for the clarification! Well, the first week I didi notice significant changes, but I am starting to see some of those old habits slip back in this week for some reason. My Dr. said that 10-15mg is a low dose and usually an introductory dose to allow you to build up to a larger dosage. He told me that is normal to experience kind of a euphoria the first week or so and then start realizing that you still have those habits that you tought yourself over the course of your pre-medication life. How is it going so far? I have also started on XR - 10 mg.. Will let you know.

I have been taking adderall XR 40 mg for a little over a month and has worked wonders! My doctor and I decided to increase to 60 mg to see if there is additional benefit without side effects. It has only been one day so I am not sure yet. Though I am sure you heard it a million times...the meds only do so much and you have to make changes in your life to take up the slack.

GBO - same thing with my meds.  Doc started me on Dexedrine spansules 10mg, then 20 for a while and now 30 for some time.  It's a slow climb and is not bad at all.  You can try to take it around your schedule too - I find that if I plan it well it works better through my work day - certainly never 9 - 5 so it has to change to be with me.

Glad you are getting results.  Don't worry once you climb up to where your body is used to working with it (you can probably go up to 50 or 60mg), then it will settle in.
