generic Adderall made me sick? | ADHD Information
Go on straight up Adderall XR. Generics are filled with, well, fillers
and those are what make you feel like crud. There is no generic for XR
and the extra price is well worth it.
Generics are not all the same. Unless your dr oks it, never take a generic substitution. This is especially important with drugs that can effect your haert or blood pressure.
Why don't they have the real thing? Not sure. But make the drive if you need to.
Hi everybody! This is my first post here, I found this place when I was
searching for adderall-related message boards and websites. I'm
28 years old, been taking Adderall 20 MG twice a day for about 6 years
now, with drug holidays just about every weekend.
The last 6 months or so, when I get my prescription filled, I ask for
the brand name and the pharmacist ALWAYS comes back and tells me they
don't have it, but they DO have the generic. This happens at most
of the pharmacies in town here, and not until I got the real Adderall
at a "nice" pharmacy in an upscale part of town did I notice just how
bad the generics were making me feel! At first I thought it was
just because I'd been taking this for so many years, it was just my
body's way of telling me it's time to find another treatment
option. I mean the last few months were horrible, I would feel
like throwing up, have cold chills, night sweats, feel tired ALL day
long, couldn't talk to anybody, etc. This all cleared up the very
first day I switched to the brand name.
So my question is, are the generics either: a) inherently bad, b) old,
c) different drug alltogether?? And also, why would it be so
difficult to get brand-name drugs? I mean, I had to drive 45
minutes to find a pharmacy that had it. And this is a decent-size
city (knoxville, TN) I was thinking maybe they had a deal with the
manufacturer of the generics (Barr is what it always said on the
bottle). But that doesn't really make sense to me...How is it legal to
sell "bad quality" drugs? Especially with all the recent talk of how
generics are supposed to be the exact same active ingredient, and it
makes more sense to buy them?
Sorry for writing a novel here, anybody have any thoughts on this?
