I've been thinking abt how I handle tasks. I have many responibilities as a Wife and mom of 3 boys. I put alot of things off til the last minute. Even little things. I also get overwealmed having to do them(like dishes, which I hate). I get anxious when I have to meet in public settings. Am I making mountains out of molehills?
Probably! Me too!
Actually, people with ADD have a very poor perception of time. We tend to always think of things in terms of now, and 5 mins from now is always in the future so it sneaks up on us. Honest! I've read that in reports about ADD! I'm not making it up so I have an easy excuse to give my hubby for always being late and never having the whole house clean at the same time.
It is nice being able to use the reason for the dishes still being in the sink at bed time as "the ADD made me do it"! I just wish he would believe me, but he seems to think that as an adult I should just assume if I did them immediately, I wouldn't have the time issue! Actually, that comes under "organization" and we are bad at that too. Hmmm...
.......maybe......
Give yourself a break. You have a lot of responsibility and you should put your kids first. Invest in a disposable dish stock and just toss the dishes! Then we can invent disposable laundry! Barb
Dont stress too much i never finish anything, I also have 3 boy's (9,4 &5). I am also either really lat, as in sometimes days, or an hour or even a day early i dont think its possible for life to run on time with 3 boys, not to mention if you have ADHD

( from my 4 year old to you)I know what you mean.
In the past i've found myself not getting around to doing the things i love, let alone the tedious things that I dislike. I get overwhelmed sometimes when i'm getting ready for a fishing trip or a camping trip. I've found that i can make it easier by making a 'to do' list about a week before hand, and then i can take care of the items 'one a day' in MY style. usually works pretty good for me. I hate making 3 or 4 stops at a time on the way to my favorite fishing hole (bait, food, propane etc.) because i just want to be there.
As for the daily grind things, I try to make a daily list with only 2 things on it. (2 easy to do things)
It's a good way to get the ball rolling. Once i get into it, then i feel good and keep going.
I simultaneously try to keep a bigger list that I refer to as my 'Page of Progress'. The 'big list' of things that I usually can go to after gaining confidence and momentum from finishing the 2 item list.
This system usually works good for me.
Unless i lose the list.
