I had been on Wellbutrin XL and Strattera for quite a while. Got off the Wellbutrin because of side effects they claim are low occurrance. Doctor raised Strattera from 40 to 60. I nearly slept through the entire second week and just this weekend went back to 40. Feel better physically. Still not thinking all too well.
I've done Aderall and Ritalin/Metadate/Concerta, all with side effects, but they all work better for me than Strattera.
I took Strattera for about 6 weeks, and didn't like it very much. Sure it improved focus and concentration but it made me feel lethargic most of the time and way too serious. People around me began commenting how much I have changed when I was on it and that I wasn't as fun to be around so I got off it. Coming off it was easy for me by the way...I just stopped taking it and had no withdrawal symptoms or feelings it was easy. BTW I went through every side effect you can imagine within the first 2 weeks (Sure they do eventually go away...at least 95% of them do) but what didn't work for me may work for you. I begin taking Concerta either tommorow or Saturday depending on when the Doc will correct my perscription (He made an error when writing it).Can be used before bed time instead. Son likes it better then. Was on strattera (40mg) for 3 months and it didnt work for me. I am now on 10mg AXR. It works better but not strong/lasting for me.. We started our 5 1/2 year old son on Strattera about 3 weeks ago. He takes it at night. Have read that some people think it only works 5-6 hours. Still confused about how it is supposed to work during the next day. No ill side affects like Ritalin or Adderall but not sure we are seeing anything different regarding attention and focus. Anyone have any thoughts?
