rough weekOh sweetie .. deep breath. At least he made it through to the end of the week :) Take the victories where you can get them. I am not being sarcastic .. I am serious. Try to see the glass half full instead of half empty. It'll make a world of difference. Have you had him evaluated? Has he been tested or diagnosed? If not then I would get him to a neuro-psych for testing. Most everyone on here well tell you that it was the neuropsych that really pinned down what was going on with their child. At least it's a step in the right direction. I just picked up my son from summer camp. he had a tantrum they couldn't control and I had to go get him. he was there all of an hour. I am mad and sad all at the same time. I know there is something wrong but am not sure where to start. He such a great kid then aout of the blue he gets nasty. It was his last day of camp, why why why?You know .. I got to a neuropsych when my pediatrician sent me to a neurologist and he sent me to the neuro-psych. Do you have a children's hospital near you?If he hasn't been diagnosed yet, I recommend a NeuroPsych way above a psycologist, talk therapist or even psychiatrist. There is another board for all childhood disorders you may want to check out. Call a hospital you trust in your area and ask if a NeuroPsych is on staff. University Hospitals are great resources, imo. Good luck.
I know...and I do take try to look at all the good, but some days it is so hard. I tlaked to our family doc and she keeps saying he is too younge but everyone here is disagreeing with that so I think i am going to have to take the next step. How do i find a nueropsych? |
