ChiefB,
Are you going to have an actual SPECT scan? If so, then I beleive the Wellbutrin will have an effect on the test because it has an effect on dopamine. From what I understand, I think a SPECT scan runs a couple thousand dollars, and I'm pretty sure it's not usually covered by insurance.
Otherwise, I think the test you're doctor will be giving you may only be a questionaire or a discussion with him/her over your behavior, habits, passed experience as a child, ability to read novels...you know things of that nature. If this is the case, then the Wellbutrin in your system shouldn't make a difference, because you will be discussing your history before you started taking Wellbutrin.
I can very well be wrong, but I don't think there's a specific test that you can take to give you a definitive diagnosis. The only test that I know of are Dr. Amen's brain scanning, which is not yet widely accepted. However, if you are having a SPECT scan, let us know the results!!

Thanks for the info,
I have a pretty good insurance plan so SPECT may be covered. I called my provider before I made the appt and they gave me the rundown as to how much was covered and what the copay would be. Given that I have started on meds, I can just let the Dr. know that and he will probably be inclined to use some other method of testing me.
