Has anyone had any experiences with non-drug treatment? I have read that Zen meditation actually alters brain waves. I just wonder if anyone has heard of it being applied to ADD? I also wonder if anyone has heard of any Traditional Eastern medicine (herbs, acupuncture, etc.), having any success? Chazinmo38136.3736805556

Chaznimo, I don't know anything about Zen or traitional eastern medicine but many people have had positive results with vitamin therapy, supplements, etc. which are not meds.  I have had positive results with amino acids and flax seed oil, and have heard that fish oils are also good.

If you are interested in any approach which is not medication, I would advise you to check out "alternative treatments". There are posts here you could review to get started. One woman had the symptoms completely disappear from her daughter when she went to a kinesthiologist chiropractor and followed the diet he suggested.

Good luck with your search!   Barb

Yes, I have had experience with non-drug treatment,
5-HTP (5 Hydroxytryptophan) is made from the Griffona bean and I saw great improvements in my mood from it.
