Are you willing to go to Orlando? Thought I saw somewhere there is some Adult ADD assessments and trials at UCF.. I will find it in the internet at home and get back to you if you are interested and if I still remember. I am clicking on this following box next to "Email Notify me of Replies" to remind myself later.

Yes I am at work now in case you wonder.

Reizende - Maybe a teaching hospital?? Many hospitals allow treatment for next to nothing if you allow the residents access to you and your problems.

I found one listed in your town.

This person above is in charge of residents in psychological pharmacology.

Perhaps they would be able to counsel, even prescribe for you as they are teaching in pharmacology.  Worth a shot!

Do they have any big universities in your area? I think you have a better chance of finding something through there. I'm very lucky that there is a very good ADD specialist in my little town. It's a university town.No. No nearby schools. Just community colleges for miles.

You would think the Ft Lauderdale area (city of like 2 million) has more options for ADD assessment. Yeah right. 6 months of searching has turned up about 2 psychiatrists & a CHADD group far from my apartment. Not to mention they talk to me like I am stupid when I call around asking for ADD testing pricing. Then the next question they ask me is "how old is the child?". I say its for me and the reply is "oh we don't test adults". The CHADD directory pulls up one person (in the same city as CHADD chapter) far from me. I e-mailed the physician.

I have no health insurance. So I tried the supposed "free" clinics. Apparently, I make too much money & they don't take into consideration high monthly bills or rent. Then, the red tape to apply for a free clinic is like a 1 year long waiting list & you have to give a list of your bank statements & life history. ARGHHH!!

It's August now. Will I ever get tested?

Well I e-mailed that professional. No reply.
