For a week now I have been weening off strattera and for the past two days I have noticed being sluggish and an increased craving for sugar. Anybody else have a similiar experience? Shaggy38566.282037037

i read something online that adderall increases your levels of dopamine and with increased dopamine you have decreased serotonin...a hallmark of low sertonin levels is craving sugar and other carbs...not sure how true it is.

Last week I stopped Strattera (40 mg) abruptly and start Adderall XR (10 mg in a.m.)- one of the side effects from XR is decrease of appetite but this is not the case for me. I crave for sugar and feel sluggish especially in pm... I feel hype in a.m. Don't know why..

Perhaps for the majority, not all.
In the meanwhile, what other med are you now on? I am waiting for AXR to help me more than a kick of energy.

I felt sluggish while ON the strattera.  Once off I quickly regained my energy.

Perhaps you are craving carbohydrates in sugar form because your body is needing some building materials for the brain?  Sugar is a quick boost - and even if you are not clued in consciously maybe your subconscious knows it.

Just poking in the dark - but it makes sense to me.
