Ritalin Users - Does It Make You Itch? | ADHD Information

Share
Hi everyone. So excited to find this forum. I'm a 34 y/o female and was diagnosed with ADD about three years ago. I started taking Wellbutrin which didn't do much, but didn't have much opportunity to actively try out different meds.

Now I work in a building with a doc's office and so I am now trying new treatments. Went off the Wellbutrin. Started Cymbalta. It made me fall asleep constantly. Doc now has put me on 10mg Ritalin twice a day.

Since going on the Ritalin about four days ago I've started to feel much more alert. The side effects of the Cymbalta are waning now that I've fully tapered off. (No more falling asleep in the bathroom stall at work.) But I ITCH SO BAD! All over!

Is it the Ritalin? Is that a common side effect? I have sensitive skin so it could feasibly be allergies or something else. I just don't know.

Thank you! So glad to finally be among people who understand what I'm going through. Phew.

I've been on Ritalin for over a year. The only side effect was I felt to wired{20mg once a day} so I just cut in half. What is the strengh you are taking now. Try taking just half for a few days and see what happens, and if you drink coffee either reduce your input or slowly stop drinking it for awhile.

Hope this helps.

Regarding the itch factor:  Do not forget, Ritalin is basically healthier legalized Methamphetamine!  That is why you itch!  They both will give you this side effect & I cannot understand why doctors, pharmacists & the like will not be forthcoming about this!
