Ritalin vs. Adderall | ADHD Information

I'm on Ritalin and it's working like a champ. Just started about four days ago and today is the first day I've felt 100%. But the 10mg dose twice a day "expires" quickly and I'm dragging one minute after feeling fine the next. I also think I might need more than 10mg, because I don't make it through the day on the two doses.

I know there's extended release Ritalin formulations my Doc said he'd give me to try if this worked for me. But would there be any compelling reason perhaps to try Adderall first? Just wondering why one might prefer Ritalin over Adderall or vice versa.

Thank you!
Yes there are two type of long lasting Ritalin.  There is Sustained Release Ritalin, which is what I take 20mg in the morning and it lasts about 6-8 hours.  Then there is the Ritalin SL that lasts a little longer but I found that it did not work as well as the Sustained release ritalin.
