Yup, damn you're good.
I'm new here too and your post is the first thing I read.  What a great way to know I'm not alone out here.  Great writing.  I hesitated to post because I am not the best speller and grammer, forget it!  But I could identify with a good part of what you went through.  Thanks.  I hope you will let us know as your write more.

I forgot to say.  You not only cracked yourself up but me too!  Doesn't take a heck of a lot to get a belly laugh out of me either.

Hi Everyone - I just joined last night. I see the tagged message at the top for introductions, but by way of introduction I wanted to post a 3 part series of "articles" I wrote at another site about ADHD and my experience with it. I am finally getting success with treatment after 30 years of not knowing what was wrong with me and 3 years of knowing but not being successful at treating it. So in celebration of my 34th birthday (tomorrow) I wrote the following three pieces. I welcome any feedback ya got... :) Part of me wants to expand these articles one day into something more.

BTW, this site is Epinions, but since these aren't product reviews I'm linking to I don't get paid for hits or anything (not that hit payments are worth more than a penny here or there on the product reviews). Just wanted to present full disclosure on what I'm linking to:

Part One: Tales of a Fourth (And 1st-3rd, 5th-12th) Grade Nothing: ADD and Adult ADD ©
Part Two: "Are You Sure It Isn't Just [Depression|Anxiety|Anemia|Chronic Fatigue|PMS]?" Diagnosing and Treating Adult ADD ©
Part Three: The Amazing Successes of a Colossal Failure: Coping and Succeeding with Adult ADD ©

Very good read.  And not selling anything.

You beat me to it.

Um, are you a man of wealth and taste?

Anyway...now that the atempt at humor is gone...from one new guy to another...Welcome.  I just might get around to checking out those links...

[/QUOTE]

Wow!

I wish I could get my thoughts together enough to write.

I find myself getting a wee bit jealous at times.

Great info!

Wow! You pushed a lot of buttons with your description of your childhood in school. I think any adult with ADD can identify with what happened to you, even if we didn't have the exact same experiences.

Doing so poorly all year and then scoring so high on the standardized tests, being told you just need to apply yourself, hyperfocusing and getting so much more done........

Thank you Auntie. And nope, not selling anything. All my money made off the Internet was made the old fashioned way, Stock options, which then became Worldcom stock options. So as you can see, I also went broke off the Internet the old fashioned way. :)

Hi Barb - You know those standardized tests were almost a challenge for me just to do as well as possible so I could get my parents in a tizzy (and escape being "held back a grade"). It was like I couldn't bring focus and drive to school every day, but on those two or three days, when it was a short burst, i could give it 110%. In retrospect, I was probably just a cruel joke for my parents. :)

Close...

A wo-man of wealth and taste... well the wealth not so much but the taste, I like to think so.

Thanks for the welcome, and fine musical taste you have yourself...

Writing is about the only thing I have consistently done well throughout my life. It's therapy for me... I type fast and just unload, unload, unload.... This keyboard ought to charge me by the hour, for it's practically my therapist's couch...

I'm glad you found my keyboard blathering (as I often refer to it) interesting. THank you so much for taking the time to read it.
